The Formation of Friends of Vintage Motoring
In early 2025, a group of dedicated motoring enthusiasts began discussing the idea of creating a new club – one that would provide an inclusive, supportive and forward thinking environment for owners and admirers of historic vehicles. These conversations were guided by a simple but powerful vision: to build a community where friendship, transparency and a love of motoring heritage sit at the heart of everything we do.
After months of careful planning and consultation, that vision became reality.

Our Founding
On 14 June 2025, our founding members held their first formal meeting. At this pivotal gathering:
- A Committee of Managment was appointed
- A Constitution was drafted and adopted
- The name Friends of Vintage Motoring was officially chosen
The name reflects exactly who we are – a group of friend united by a shared appreciation for automotive history.
From the very beginning, the goal has been clear:
To promote and encourage interest in veteran, vintage and classic automobiles while fostering a welcoming and vibrant community.
Friends of Vintage Motoring proudly embraces the uniqueness of all historic vehicles. From the pioneering Model T to the iconic classics that followed, we celebrate the craftsmanship, engineering and stories that shaped the motoring world.
We believe every historic vehicle has a story worth preserving – and every enthusiast deserves a place to belong.
Looking Ahead
June 14, 2025 will always mark the beginning of our journey.
As we continue to grow, Friends of Vintage Motoring aims to be a strong and respected presence in South Australia’s historic motoring landscape – preserving the legacy of veteran, vintage and classic automobiles for generations to come.
